Faithful Friends! That is what you are, and I thank you for your faithfulness! Speaking of faith, I pray this message of true meaning to me personally will touch you so spiritually and bring upon a newfound understanding and belief in God—and not just in God, but in His ability to touch us as His beloved children, even here on earth (Hebrews 2:4).
The Power of 11
The number 11 is the most special number to me now and will be for the rest of my life. I totally enjoy wearing my kids’ sports team numbered and logoed shirts to show support for them and their teams, but 11 is a number that has changed me, changed my thinking, and my belief system, forever.
Continuously throughout my Christian walk, God has shown Himself to me and, at times, spoken to me within my spirit. I am beyond thankful for these experiences, but there are none greater than the ones I am going to divulge with you today.
“11:11, Angels All Around Us!”
When mama was still here with us, she had a special bond with the time 11:11. She would speak it aloud when we were together,
“11:11, Angels all around us!”
She would send text messages to let us know,
“Hey loved ones, it’s 11:11, thank you Jesus for sending your angels to us!”
I never really thought too much about this while I had her here, but now…. NOW, it means EVERYTHING! And this is why.
After she journeyed to Heaven, the Lord would place my eyes on the clock daily at 11:11, both during the AM hours, as well as the PM hours. This was, as I thought, a true miracle from Heaven, and something to be so incredibly thankful for. That small, but powerful happening meant more to me than having all the money in the world.
Layer Upon Layer of 11
Throughout those first months, God began to reveal more miracles in reference to the number 11.
- He would say, “Jen, you were born on January 11th. This was no mistake.”
- He revealed how my favorite verse for years was Jeremiah 29:11.
- Then came my anniversary, and He spoke, “Happy Anniversary, no doubt, your anniversary falls on December 11th!”
But the most miraculous of all:
God spoke to me on the Friday before He took mama to Heaven and gave me very strong instructions to,
“spend the day with mama next week,”
— to which, of course, I listened and did just that.
The day He spoke to me?
August 11th.
One week later, on August 18th, my precious son’s 11th birthday, mama went Home to be with the Lord.
A Feather from Heaven
Bear with me, friends, this will be a bit of a longer story, but I want you to see and feel and absorb God’s truths. He never said miracles would end in biblical times. Today’s miracles might be a little different, but they are miracles, nonetheless.
During the weeks following mama’s departure, I would visit family and friends at mom and dad’s house. On one of those days, I sat out back inside the screened-in porch and noticed a beautiful white feather.
At first, I just recognized it and kept moving.
A few days later, I noticed it again—it had moved, this time placed on a table.
Again, I moved on.
Another visit, I didn’t go out back this particular day but stayed inside. After saying my goodbyes and walking to my car, I looked over and—there it was again, for the third time!
A single, white feather (the same one as the two times before), laying on the grass in the front yard.
I kind of chuckled to myself and got in the driver’s seat. Then I heard my mama, clear as day:
“Jenny, get out of this car, and get that feather, it is for YOU!”
I literally belly laughed as I got out and walked across the yard to pick up that white feather.
Then mama said,
“Please read Psalm 91:11.”
And so I did:
“For God will command His angels concerning you, to guard you, to watch over you and to protect you in all your ways.”
That feather became yet another miracle from Heaven, and a beautiful and tangible piece of God’s work to remind me that He’s HERE, and that He also wants me to rest in knowing mama’s work is far from finished. She is an Angel, commanded by my Heavenly Father to watch over and protect me. I don’t know about you all reading this post, but if that doesn’t give you hope and a feeling of amazing comfort, I don’t know what will. This simple little white feather, just like the number 11, pointed me straight to the Lord, where my spirit and soul were able to connect to the eternal place of Heaven.
The Gift of One Day
The last day I was blessed to be with mama, only because I heard from God, turned out to be the most precious gift I’ve ever received in my 46 years on earth.
This day, mama wasn’t sick, nor did she say she was. We had coffee together, she made us both a delicious salad for lunch, and we talked and laughed until I left to pick the kids up from school. Listen Loved ones, God knows what we need and when we need it. That encounter with mama, gave me the strength to keep going. God knew, when He spoke to my spirit on Friday, August 11th, mama would be joining Him very soon – exactly one week later, on my son’s 11th birthday, August 18th. Mama was a person on this earth that I truly believed I could not live without. In my last message to you, I explained how I whaled and pleaded with God, one important statement I made was, “God, bring me home too, I can’t live here without my mom, my cheerleader, my confidant, my rock, my everything!” All of these signs thereafter, these signs were miracles from Heaven, they were notes for me to keep locked away in the depth of my being in order to come away from this tragedy legitimately STRONGER than I ever had been before. Faith, precious one, faith is key! …….
Two days after that visit, mama was in Heaven.
I wouldn’t trade that day for anything in the world.
Miracles for Today
God has these blessings—these miracles—to bring us hope for the future.
But we must be willing to listen.
We must believe in His Word.
We must invest time to be in communion with Him.
Please notice, I didn’t say we must seek out perfection or live up to the world’s standards of success, wearing ourselves out, doing, doing, doing – Those are the lies of the enemy (John 8:44). It takes faith. Faith in Jesus, faith in the reality of His resurrection, and a willing heart to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:2).
Hold On to Faith
It’s all about faith, my friends.
- Faith in Jesus
- Faith in Heaven
- Faith in eternity
Fight any feelings of unworthiness by speaking aloud:
“Who the Son sets free, oh, is free indeed, I’m a child of God, YES I AM!”
Bask in His miraculous ways and His forever goodness, in times of greatness and even in times of sadness.
“Do not be afraid,” says the Lord, “for I am with you, I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
(Isaiah 41:10)
Amen and Amen!
