Friend, if you’ve ever sat in the middle of pain or looked around at the brokenness in this world and thought, “Why, God?”—you are not alone. This is a question every believer wrestles with at some point. The good news is, God doesn’t leave us without answers. His Word gives us truth, hope, and perspective that we can cling to when life doesn’t make sense.

Remember Loved one, it’s ALL about RELATIONSHIPGod doesn’t call us as His children (once we are saved) to be robots. God wants meaningful communion. He wants us to “choose” Him. This is a concept we should all be able to clearly understand when questioning, “why bad things happen”. A battle, not of flesh and blood, but of fighting against principalities of darkness. What exactly does that mean – Friend, the spiritual realm Is of much greater importance when comparing it to what transpires on planet earth. The enemy is the ruler of the world and became such as soon as he tempted Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and they (who were unclothed, Genesis 2:25) became clothed in sin and recognized “sin” at that very moment (Genesis, Chapter 3). Prior to giving in to the temptation of the serpent, Adam and Eve fellowshipped with our Creator, Father God in blissful relation. After the fall, God says in Genesis 3:22, “The man has now become like ONE of us, knowing good and evil…….”.  This is a reference to Satan. God never did and never will dwell among anything sinful. His goodness is too powerful and too strong to do so.

A Broken World in Need of Redemption

And so…. bad things happen because we live in a fallen world. Sin entered through Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the garden, and ever since, humanity has been fractured (Romans 5:12). Death, pain, sickness, and sorrow are the ripple effects of that brokenness and disobedience. When we are experiencing pain, suffering, etc., the enemy’s desire is for us to question God, to be in a state of confusion. And ultimately to allow temptation to lead to disobedience. When we are down, we are vulnerable. The enemy knows this, and so he makes it his fulltime job to bond us not to light (as God does), but to darkness. It’s his MO.

But here’s the hope: God didn’t abandon us, and His desire is for us to unify together as the body of Christ to encourage one another and to lift each other up, in good times and especially in hard times (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

God Works Through His People

We believe this as we read the following from God’s Word: 1 Corinthians 12:27“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” That means God chooses to work through His people to bring healing, hope, and restoration. When we wonder why He allows certain things to happen, sometimes the deeper question is—are we willing to be His hands and feet in the middle of it? We are the body of Christ, called to love, to serve, and to live out His mission.

My prayer in advocating for those reading this message is to ensure you know I am here for you! I take the Word of God to be truth, to be power, and to always encourage my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to fight the good fight, and to keep moving forward with confidence. My testaments are all within the texts of these messages to fulfill the purpose and vision my Father gave me. This is my mission. The pages on this website are the mission field. God is working…. Through me, and through you.

A Just and Loving God

It’s important to remember that God is just. He does not overlook evil. He does not ignore suffering. Scripture assures us: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain” (Revelation 21:4). Justice is coming. Wrong will be made right. But until then, God is patient because He longs for all people to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). His justice is perfect, and His timing is intentional.

Friends, I know this to be true. I believe it is the purpose of the Lord telling us to “pray for our enemies (Matthew 5:44-45). When we have so much of Jesus love in our hearts for the world that we (with His grace) can pray for our enemies, His peace allows us to move forward unshaken, while we trust Him with those who “trespass against us” (Matthew 6:12).

The Power of the Cross

Before Christ, humanity lived under the weight of the Old Testament law, where sacrifices had to be made again and again for the forgiveness of sins. But God, in His great love, gave His one and only Son – Jesus Christ – as the ultimate and final sacrifice (John 3:16). Because of His death and resurrection, we no longer live under the old law. We live in the freedom of grace, secured by the blood of the Lamb.

Jesus, fully God and fully man, took on the punishment we deserved so that we could have eternal life (1 Peter 1:19). That is the greatest act of love the world has ever known. And it is most certainly the best news, the best reality of Heaven and the afterlife – we keep our eyes on the prize – eternity with our Lord, the One who came to save us from the fiery pit of Hell.

Our Purpose: To Glorify Christ

At the end of the day, the most important aspect of our God-given life is not success, comfort, or even the absence of suffering – it is to glorify Christ in everything we do. “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Bad things may happen, but they do not change God’s goodness. Our purpose remains: to reflect Christ’s light in a dark world and to honor Him for everything He is and everything He has done.

Praying for a World Transformed

As Christians, our prayers should go beyond ourselves. We should long, as God does, for all people to know Christ. Imagine a world where every heart bowed to Jesus – the peace, the love, the joy that would fill the earth! This is the vision of heaven, but it’s also the mission we are called to on earth.

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)

Let us be a people who not only ask, “Why do bad things happen?” but who also respond with, “Lord, use me to bring Your love into the pain.”

Final Encouragement to leave you with: Bad things happen in the world, yes – but our God is greater. He is working through His people. He has already given us victory through Jesus Christ. And one day, all sorrow will end, and His glory will fill the universe. Amen and Amen!
