Friends, the unknown can be unsettling. Especially in moments like these. After the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk – our hearts and minds search for answers. We feel the weight of questions that may never be answered on this side of eternity. But let us remember this truth: our God is not a God of confusion, but of peace and order (1 Corinthians 14:33).

Even in times of uncertainty, He is steady. Yesterday, today, and forevermore, God remains the same (Hebrews 13:8).

I have personally found myself grasping for answers, especially when bombarded with every post, every scroll, every email and every news report right in my face – with the sole purpose of keeping me there, in a state of confusion I cannot seem to find my way out of. This is NOT the doings of our God. This is again, the task of the enemy to keep us in bondage. If you’re like me precious one, I pray you are touched and motivated by the words of this message to “let it go”.

When “It” Doesn’t Make Sense

Confusion, fear, and doubt are natural responses when tragedy strikes. Yet, God calls us not to live in fear but in faith. Romans 8:28 reminds us that “all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

We may not see the “good” right now. We may not understand the “why.” But our lack of answers does not change God’s sovereignty.

I learned this very lesson when mama made her journey to Heaven. I was baffled, too confused to even see straight, and constantly consumed by “needing an answer”. Until God spoke – “Jenny, this isn’t about you. This is about my relationship with your mama and the need I have for her here to be much greater than My need for her there.” You see, our lack of control can make us go crazy. I NEEDED AN ANSWER. This is the way I felt. And, yes, I did get a sort of answer from the Lord, but I realized in that moment with God that He owes me nothing- no explanation, for He is sovereign as stated above. He works all things for the good, and I am to trust Him in that very process, no matter what.

God Holds Tomorrow

One of the greatest comforts we can cling to is that God already knows what tomorrow holds. Isaiah 46:10 declares, “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”

While the world spins in chaos, the Lord remains in complete control. Nothing surprises Him. Nothing slips past His hands.

This TRUTH is so incredibly comforting if you really think about it. God knew that Friday morning mama was going to make her journey to Heaven and God also knew the plan of the wicked to hurt and in the end, kill Charlie Kirk. Our Father was not surprised and guess what another amazing truth is – Vengeance is His, not ours to repay (Deuteronomy 32:35). Listen to me carefully Loved one, I am a witness to so many instances of God’s retribution to those who have hurt His children. The statement goes, “Do not mess with the children of God, for His wrath is beyond any human response”. Which leads to the next section……

Our Response as Believers

So, what are we called to do when the unknown surrounds us? We pray. We stand on the promises of His Word. We proclaim His truth in both the good and the bad, through joy and through sorrow. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us not to be anxious, but to bring everything to God in prayer, with thanksgiving, and the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

This is our responsibility: not to solve every mystery, but to rest in the knowledge that God is who He says He is.

It is also important to add; we are to pray for our enemies (Matthew 5:44). As the wife of Charlie Kirk publicly forgave her husband’s killer, stating, “her husband would have been one to save the boy who shot him; he would have wanted her to pray for him,” she knows the reality of Deuteronomy 32:35 and Matthew 5:44. What an incredible testimony for us all to witness right before our very own eyes.

Standing Strong in Faith

Charlie Kirk’s life, legacy, and faith remind us of the importance of standing boldly for Christ. His death was tragic, but his testimony lives on. As fellow believers, we must not shrink back in confusion or fear but press forward with confidence that our God is faithful (Philippians 3;14).

Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Let us cling to this truth now more than ever, showing the world around us that our trust lies in the Father of truth, our Lord, our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Hope Beyond the Unknown

Loved ones, the truth is this: the unknown is never truly unknown. Not to God. He sees. He knows. And He holds us firmly in His hand.

Let us rest in the words of Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Even when we don’t understand, we can trust the One who does.

Amen and amen.
